Please find attached the Christmas Training schedule for Bromsgrove SC for 2016. All swimmers are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible in line with the Athlete Progression Pathway and Long Term athlete development, and especially with the competition schedule kicking off so early in January.
I am aware that some of you will not be used to training through Christmas, but this is an ideal time to hone those race skills and work off those mince pies. 😉
It would be especially nice to see more new faces at the morning sessions. Morning training is very important in the development of athletes. When you compete at county / regional / national level, and even at open meets, you are expected to be in the water at 8am for warm up, meaning you need to be at the pool well before that, and ideally doing a land warm up by 7:40. By training in early mornings regularly, you can adapt your body to be used to performing at that time meaning it’s not such a shock to the system when you compete.
May I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support through this year since I joined in January, and I look forward to us all working hard as a team to make 2017 even more successful for the club and all its members.
