Introduction To The Welfare Team

James Long has now taken up the position as welfare at Bromsgrove Swimming Club.

James has two children at the swimming club and is here if you have any issues with regards to any welfare concerns with your children, whilst under the care of Bromsgrove Swimming Club, whether it relates to other children within the club or any other member of the club.

BSC follow a set of guidelines called Wavepower, which are the ASA child safeguarding policies and procedures supplied by Swim England.  Wavepower must be adopted by all Swim England affiliated clubs and organisations.

Wavepower guidelines are available for anyone to view, please use the link below or visit the Swim England website.

Please be assured that all information is kept confidential, we do not report issues back to the Committee. Other members of the Club are only involved if we feel this is needed to resolve an issue and you would be informed of this beforehand.

We are also responsible for undertaking DBS checks on any persons (over the age of 18), who have contact with your children whilst under our care, for example; coaches, judges, chaperones and timekeepers. We also ensure all relevant courses/qualifications have been undertaken.

We have a dedicated email address which is confidential for any welfare issue you may have. If you are unsure if it is a Welfare issue, please contact us and we will be more than happy to advise and redirect you if we feel it is not for us to deal with.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are concerned with any issues, however small and these will be dealt with confidentially and in line with Swim England guidelines.
